In 1991, Liza
Minnelli had her
last starring
role in a
feature film --
“Stepping Out”:
The film had a
very limited
release (it only
grossed
$250,000) and
then went
straight to
video.
It has pretty
much been
forgotten, but
it gave Liza a
terrific title
song, written by
Kander and Ebb,
and a hook for a
touring live
show that she
premiered at
Radio City Music
Hall, and which
was videoed for
broadcast on
PBS:
As a child,
Liza’s first
show biz dream
was to be a
dancer, and
throughout her
life she took
regular dance
classes:
The work paid
off!
She’s
sensational in
this number,
backed up by the
“Demon Divas,”
and with
choreography by
Danny Daniels.
One of the many
things we love
about this
number is that
it gives a
chance for star
turns by women
of all ages,
sizes, and
shapes.
And here are
some of the
items -- of
various ages,
sizes, and
shapes -- that
we are featuring
from our website
today:
